"One fatality following Linwood house fire"

Middlemore Hospital in Auckland have advised Police that a female in her 30’s who was critically injured in a house fire at a residential property in Linwood last week (18 August 2015) passed away yesterday afternoon (23 August 2015).

Detective Sergeant Dave Parker says an autopsy is due to be completed today. “As a result of an ongoing investigation into the incident the death is not being treated as suspicious. The death has been referred to the Coroner but no further details will be released until the formal identification process has been completed.”

The victim’s family are being supported by their friends, family, Police and Victim Support.

“The female had been treated in a specialist burns unit at Middlemore Hospital since her transfer last Wednesday (19 August 2015). Police are not treating the death as suspicious and are not seeking anyone else in relation to this incident” said Detective Sergeant Parker.
