Taramakau Bridge cycle clip-on contract
Taramakau Bridge cycle clip-on contract awarded to Fulton Hogan
The NZ Transport Agency’s cycling and walking clip-on contract for the Taramakau Bridge, between Greymouth and Kumara Junction, has been awarded to Fulton Hogan.
The cycling clip-on should be in place by Christmas with work starting within the next month, said Pete Connors, Transport Agency Regional Performance Manager.
The cost of construction is about $1 million.
The much safer route across the bridge will be on the downstream side, towards the sea, aligning with the existing cycle path. For more information on the new cycle trail, see this link.
Once the new Taramakau Bridge is built, the clip-on will be relocated to another bridge with a need for safe pedestrian and cycling access.
