Serious assault in central Auckland overnight
Auckland City Police are investigating a serious assault in the city overnight.
At around 2.30am, a 21 year-old man was assaulted by numerous people on the corner of Albert Street and Wyndham Street, Auckland City.
He was taken to Auckland Hospital and remains there this morning in a critical condition, with serious head injuries.
The offenders have not yet been identified and an investigation is underway.
Police would like to speak to anyone who has witnessed the assault or has information.
