Police officer assualted - Hamilton - Waikato

A Hamilton Police officer is being treated for injuries he received after being assaulted while making an arrest in Dinsdale at about 9pm tonight. The officer and a colleague were attempting to arrest a man when they were attacked by two people.

One person is in custody and will appear in court tomorrow on a number of charges. The other person involved in the attack has not yet been found and enquiries will continue in the morning to locate him. The injuries to the officer are not believed to be life threatening.
