Kerikeri firearm incident

Police have set up cordons around a property near Kerikeri after receiving reports of a man at the address holding a firearm.

About 11am today police were called about the man. Local staff attended and the Armed Offenders Squad was also called in to assist.
Neighbours of the property, which is off State Highway 10 just south of Kerikeri, have been evacuated as a precaution.

Police are asking that the public stay away from the area.
Further details regarding this incident will be released once information comes to hand.
