Waikato RBN focuses on financial management

Waikato Rural Business Network focuses on financial management

Rural business professionals in the Waikato will have the opportunity to develop their businesses and strengthen their networks at the third Rural Business Network event for 2015. This event is scheduled to take place on 23 September in Mystery Creek’s Bledisloe Building.

The Rural Business Network provides an opportunity for rural-based business people to participate in events that will help them grow their businesses through networking and learning from others. RBN aims to connect innovative, motivated people from across the range of primary industry sectors with successful, experienced businessmen and women creating opportunities to share ideas, be inspired and learn by example.

The Rural Business Network currently operates eight Hubs throughout New Zealand. RBN is free to join however there is usually a charge to attend each Hub’s quarterly get-togethers and events.

In a time where farmers across the country are tightening their belts the Waikato RBN is proud to present Ben Richmond, Xero Rural Strategy Lead, an expert in rural finance. After gaining a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting Finance and Information Systems from the University of Canterbury in 2009, Mr Richmond has had a good mix of corporate, public practise, governance and small business experience. The winner of the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants 2013 Westpac Outstanding New Member of the Year Award, Ben is working toward his goal of leading an entrepreneurial start-up and gaining global excellence.

The 23 September event will cover a number of key areas with a particular focus on cash flows, budgeting and accurate forecasting and case studies around businesses who are successfully implementing these tools.
