A behind the scenes look at policing in Tauranga

Looking for something to do after the rugby on Sunday morning? Why not join us at Tauranga Police Station and get a glimpse into the world of modern policing.

The event is one of a number taking place around the country as part of the National Police Open Day.

You can take a tour of the Monmouth Street station and cell block and we will have staff from a range of policing roles on hand to give advice to anyone considering a police career.

There will also be activities and giveaways for the children and a barbecue.

Doors open at 10am and the event conclude with a demonstration by the Armed Offenders Squad and police dogs at approximately12.45pm.

The public are asked to bear in mind that Tauranga police station will remain operational on the day and elements of the open day may be subject to change in the event of an emergency or significant incident.
