Don’t get kicked into touch this Labour Weekend

Don’t get kicked into touch this Labour Weekend

District Road Policing. Wellington District Police is backing themselves to win this weekend and will have a strong front row to make sure we get the job done.
Road Policing has been working on their game plan to make sure everyone gets to the other end of the pitch safely.

There’ll be no half time break for our team and from 4pm Friday you’ll see us out in force on the roads blowing the whistle on anyone going more than 4 kph over the speed limit.

We’re going to have live coverage of the match in the form of traffic cameras all around the district with an extra emphasis on our State Highways to keep an eye on those who might be travelling to an away game.

Now there will be some new players to the game who might like to think they can make a sprint for the try line.

We’ll be watching out for that too and we’ll be consulting with our third match official, Ray Dardetector, about any excessive speed.

Because we want to make sure that all players are giving it their best, we’ll be alcohol and drug testing too.

It’ll be a game of two halves, going there and getting back, but you can count on us to have the determination to play the full game.

However, if any of you feel like you don’t have the stamina to make it all the way through, take a break for oranges and chat to the tea ladies.

Wellington is top of the table when it comes to keeping our road toll down, and that’s a title we want to keep.

So team, keep it clean out there, play safe and we’ll all be the winner on the day.
