Wanted: Kids for Santa’s Culture Club

Wanted: Kids for Santa’s Culture Club

Christmas is fast approaching and so is Auckland’s largest annual community event, the Farmers Santa Parade.

Organisers are looking for active, energetic performers to help kick start the festive season and strut their stuff beside enchanting floats.

In particular organisers are on the lookout for girls and boys aged nine to 12 for the parade’s newest float called ‘Children of the World’ which celebrates the rich cultural diversity of today’s Auckland and features children in their countries’ national dress.

Parade director Pam Glaser says they would like as many ethnic groups as possible to be represented on the Children of the World float and encourage all children who are proud of their national dress to contact them.

There is also room for children to dress as Minion characters and Christmas presents.

Glaser says Christmas is a truly magical time and the parade needs volunteers who are eager to share in the joy of the season.

“We’re looking for enthusiastic Aucklanders who can help put smiles on the faces of the thousands of spectators who come along on the day,” says Pam.

If interested, please email ronelle@misery.com

Children must be available on the parade date of Sunday, November 29 as well as the rain date of Sunday, December 6.
