Works continue at Te Atatu interchange
The NZ Transport Agency is continuing work to strengthen
the Te Atatu Bridge at the SH16 interchange, with further
lane restrictions next weekend likely to have an impact on
drivers.
The weekend work means there will be temporary restrictions from 10pm Friday 20 November to 5am Monday 23 November. It follows other restrictions this weekend 10pm Friday 13 November to 5am Monday 16 November.
“This work will help safely accommodate more traffic on the widened and raised Te Atatu Bridge”, says the NZ Transport Agency’s Acting Highway Manager, Tim Crow.
“We appreciate there have been ongoing changes at the interchange and thank everyone using this section of the Northwestern Motorway for their continued patience and support while we carry out this important strengthening work.”
“To complete the work as quickly as possible we are asking people to help us by delaying their journey, using alternative routes, or allowing plenty of time to get through the interchange.”
The lane closures will be from 10pm
Fri 20 Nov to 5am Mon 23 Nov and are as follows:-
•
The right turn from the westbound off-ramp towards Te Atatu
Peninsula will be closed. Please follow signposted
detours.
• Reduced lanes from the westbound off-ramp towards Te Atatu South.
• All other on and off-ramps will be open.
• The northwestern cycleway and motorway will remain open.
