Santa parades plus a weekend of pre-summer fun
Santa and his helpers are set for a
couple of busy weekends in the Coromandel with parades in
December in six of our communities ahead of Christmas. But
before he arrives, this weekend is chock-full of fun events
around the District.
Santa Parades:
Saturday 5 December
• Thames - 11am - Pollen St
• Whitianga - 12:30pm - Albert St to Taylor's Mistake Reserve
• Coromandel Town - 2pm - Kapanga Rd
• Whangamata - 3pm - Port Rd
Saturday 19 December
• Tairua - 10:30am - Santa on the Pepe (Pepe Reserve)
• Matarangi - 11am - Matarangi Drive

Wearable Arts Show - Saturday 28 November, Thames War Memorial Civic Centre, 7pm-10pm.

Whitianga
Coromandel Dive Festival - Friday 27 November - Sunday 29 November, Buffalo Beach.
A weekend of dive-related fun. Explore the
underwater world and compete for prizes by taking the best
picture, catching the biggest crayfish or get dressed in
your best mermaid costume for the marine-themed fancy dress
dinner.

Thunder Beach Motorcycle Summer Rally - Friday 27 November - Sunday 29 November.
Get your motor runnin' as Thunder Beach comes to the Coromandel. After assembling in Paeroa, riders meet for lunch at the Whangamata Club then head to Whiti City for the Black Tie dinner at Salt.
Road closure:
Saturday sees Albert St closed from 6am-1pm from Lee St to
Monk St for the "Miracle Mile". Sunday sees the riders head
to Coromandel Town and then down to Kopu for a late
lunch.
