Name release in fatal crash

Police can now confirm that the 39 year-old man who died as a result of a vehicle crash last night near Herbert was Craig Alan Chambers, from Motueka.

Specialist staff were back at the scene today and Police are continuing a serious crash investigation into the cause of the incident.

Police will not be in a position to comment further until that investigation is complete.

Police would also like to advise that reports of the alleged driver at fault being Chinese is incorrect.

We can confirm the driver was a foreign national, however due to the ongoing investigation and for privacy reasons, police will not be commenting further on this.
