Foxton And Foxton Beach Water Restrictions Escalated

Foxton And Foxton Beach Water Restrictions Escalated to Level 2

Horowhenua District Council requests that all Foxton and Foxton Beach residents and visitors reduce water use now.

These restrictions are due to high demand and to ensure that the demand does not exceed the volumes available.

Residents connected to the Council water supplies in Foxton and Foxton Beach are notified that the water supplies are now under a Level 2 Restriction until further notice.

This means:

1. Private gardens-Watering

Garden sprinklers must not be used at any time. Soak hoses must not be used at any time. Handheld hoses, watering cans or buckets can be used at any time as follows:

- Houses with even street numbers on even date

- Houses with odd street numbers on odd dates

2. Public parks and gardens and road reserves -watering

Irrigation in parks and gardens will be turned off until water restrictions allow. All Council reserves are irrigated using bore water (which does not affect the town supply).

3. Paved areas -cleaning

Hosing of paved areas is prohibited unless cleaning is required as a result of an accident, fire, health hazard or other emergency. The use of a bucket filled directly from a tap is permitted at any time

4. Window cleaning

Water must not be used to clean windows except by means of a bucket or watering can filled directly from a tap

5. Other vehicles (cars, trucks, boats, jet skis, motorbikes, bicycles) - cleaning

Water must not be used to clean vehicles except by means of watering cans or buckets filled directly from taps
