Drowning in Raglan

At 1215pm on Monday Police and emergency services were called to Te kopua bridge Raglan following a report a 16 year old male swimmer had gone missing.

It appears a group of teenagers were jumping off the bridge and one has landed on top of the 16 year old victim, causing him to go under the water. Friends and family located the male some 10 minutes later and efforts to revive this person were unsuccessful.

Police are investigating this matter and our thoughts are with the families during this difficult time.
