Christchurch Homicide Update

The police have arrested and charged 36 year old Christchurch man for the homicide of 41 year old Simon Prue, also of Christchurch.

Detectives have worked through the night and will continue the investigation during the weekend to establish the exact circumstances leading up to the assault and death.

The scene in Ferry Road is likely to be released later today.

Our condolences go out to the family of Mr Prue who are being supported by the Police and Victim Support.

As the matter is now before the courts, no further comment will be made.
