Following the balcony collapse at approximately 7.45pm on Friday night on Castle Street Dunedin, one patient remains in Dunedin Hospital in a stable condition. The other patient was transferred to Christchurch Hospital.

Southern DHB Chief Executive, Carole Heatly says that,” Our thoughts are with those who were injured and their families.

I would also like to acknowledge our staff. We had a fantastic response from staff across many areas, from those who were already on duty to those who gave up their Friday evening to ensure things ran smoothly.”
