Man fatally struck by train

Pedestrian Fatality – near Curraghs Road, Templeton At approximately 6.30pm on Monday the 28th of March 2016, Canterbury Police were called to an incident where a pedestrian has been struck by a train heading towards Christchurch. The middle-aged male did not survive the impact with the train.

A scene examination is presently being conducted and a police enquiry as to the cause of the collision is underway.

The name of the deceased will be released once police enquiries are complete and the next of kin has been advised.
