Givus workshop press release

Givus workshop press release

Knowing how to best use the givUS fundraising database to apply for funds for an organisation is the subject of a workshop being held in the Flaxmere Library, 5.30pm, on April 6.

Free access to the guvUS website is available from any Hastings library at any time.
The site (formerly FundView) lists more than 1200 charities that help community groups, volunteer organisations and clubs.

The trick is to use it correctly, says Hastings District councillor Jacoby Poulain.

“It can save a lot of time and disappointment by showing you the right place to send your application. Some charities only fund certain types of work, so it is important to marry up the work with the right funder.”

A the workshop trained library staff will give an overview of the givUS data base and show community groups how to use it to search for funding sources relevant to their situation.

Register at www.hastingslibraries.co.nz or call Fiona Frost on 8715000.
Registering to attend will enable the presentation to be tailored more specifically to an organisations needs.
