Check out what's in store for Coromandel-Colville

Check out what's in store for Coromandel-Colville over the next year

We're putting together our work programme for the 2016/17 financial year and you can find out what projects are in the works for the Coromandel-Colville area.

Come to our Coromandel service centre at 355 Kapanga Rd on Tuesday, 12 April, from 12-1pm after the Coromandel-Colville Community Board meeting.

The work programme being put together right now forms the Annual Plan.

Recent legislation means that if there are no significant or material differences in a proposed Annual Plan from what was projected in our Long Term Plan, there is no requirement for formal consultation.

We would still like to get your feedback on our work programme, so next Tuesday is a chance to meet with Community Board members and staff to discuss projects and budgets.

Here's some of what's in store for the Coromandel-Colville area:

Proceeding as indicated:

• Coromandel Sportsville (conditional upon approval of business case)

• Consent renewal for water supply - Karaka (District project)

Proceeding, with some changes:

• Coromandel Harbour Facilities increased to $160,000 (District project) www.tcdc.govt.nz/coroharbourproject

New projects:

• Coromandel Oamaru boat ramp renewals: $52,000

• Coromandel Charter Fishing Customer 'park and ride' car park - Te Kouma: $64,000

Removed from 2016-17:

• Furey's Creek dredging

• Sugarloaf reclamation expansion resource consent (District project)

In terms of the bigger picture District-wide, right now we're looking at an average rates increase of around 2% for the 2016-2017 financial year, which is less than the 2.61% projected for Year 2 of our Long Term Plan (LTP) 2015-2025.
