Table-top gamers unite

Table-top gamers unite

Dunedin (Thursday, 21 April 2016) – On Saturday, 30 April the Dunedin City Library will open its doors to table-top gamers from all over the city, to celebrate International Table Top Day.

In its fourth year, International Table Top Day is a chance for gamers worldwide to get together en masse to play board games, card games and role play (RPG), in fact any game which involves the use of the top of a table.

Dunedin’s gaming community will gather on the 4th floor of the City Library to indulge their love of this increasingly popular hobby.

“Table top gaming is a great social activity, which tests the players’ skills and strategic thinking, as well as being a whole lot of fun” says Hobby Hub owner and co-ordinator for the Dunedin event, Andrew Cook.

“We’d like to see established gamers coming along, as well as anyone who is interested in learning more about table top games.”

Throughout the day, there will be groups demonstrating games and a small library of games for people to try for themselves.

“Everyone is welcome”, says Mr Cook.

Get Gaming: International Table Top Day

This is the fourth year of International Table Top Day, when you’ll have a chance to try your hand at a spot of table top gaming.

With big-hitters like X-Wing and other Star Wars games, and the Game of Thrones card game based on the hugely popular book/TV fantasy series, you’ll need as much battle strategy and political cunning as you can muster.

All welcome, whether you’re experienced or new to gaming.
