Police investigating fatal Northland crash

Northland Serious Crash Unit is investigating a fatal crash which occurred yesterday evening at around 7:30pm.

A 48-year-old male died at the scene on State Highway 1 in Hikurangi after he was struck by a van travelling south.

State Highway 1 was closed and reopened at 11:30pm.

The driver of the vehicle is assisting Police with their investigation.
