Adopt a pound puppy
Adopt a pound
puppy
No matter what you
do, sometimes your dog can take himself for 'walkies' by
jumping a fence or squeezing through a hole. More often than
not, dogs like this end up in our Pound.
To ease the load on the SPCA, who are often full to capacity, we are helping out by adopting out 'pound puppies' ourselves.
If your dog decides to go for a walk alone and has been microchipped, we will have your details on file and will call you if our dog control team have picked up your dog. Obviously, registered dogs wearing their tag can be reunited with their owner, quickly, sometimes without the need for the dog to go to the pound. This saves money and stress for the owner, the dog and for us.
If you don't own a dog, but find yourself in possession of a dog please call us on 07 868 0200 and we will arrange for a dog control officer to collect the dog and take it to the Pound until we can find the owner.
All dogs unclaimed after 7 days may be offered up for adoption or may be euthanised if they are not considered suitable for re-homing. Dogs are temperament tested so that suitable dogs are available for adoption.
Please see our adoption page for the dogs that are available for re-homing.
We will also be placing dogs wanting a home on our Facebook page.
