Police appealing for sightings of missing Timaru man

Police appealing for sightings of missing Timaru man

Timaru police are appealing to the public for any sightings of Darryl McNee, a local 44 year old man. McNee’s Mazda 323 station wagon was located at the end of Connolly Road, Seadown on Sunday afternoon and there are concerns for his wellbeing. His friends and family have not heard from him since early Saturday morning.

McNee is a local resident from the Waipopo Huts area who mainly kept to himself. His disappearance has come as a surprise to his family and friends. A search of the area surrounding his vehicle and along the beach has not located any sign of him.

Police would like to speak to anyone who has seen McNee or his vehicle in the week leading up to his disappearance. Connolly Road is a common access point for people walking to and from the Opihi River mouth along the beach and it is possible someone may have seen him.

McNee is a 44 year old Caucasian male, clean shaven, thin build and 180cm tall with short light brown hair. It is not known what he was wearing at the time of his disappearance, however he is known to wear black jeans.
