Readers come together in PJs for first-ever Book Night

Hutt City Libraries, in cooperation with the Book Discussion Scheme, is taking part in Book Night on Tuesday 24 May and inviting readers to join in by coming along in their pyjamas.

The event aims to motivate hundreds of readers across the country to come together and spend part of their evening reading. Individuals, families and groups can participate by reading for at least 15 minutes anytime during the evening of Tuesday 24 May.

Four libraries will stay open late for Book Night: Snuggle in at Naenae, Wainuiomata and War Memorial, or bring your teddy bear and enjoy bedtime stories and hot drinks at Petone Library.

Libraries Divisional Manager Sandra Mann says, “We’re proud to be supporting this first-ever Book Night, and hope people will enjoy the fun of snuggling up in their PJs with a good book. Then they can continue even after Book Night!”
