Temporary Water Shutdown in Linton Next Saturday

The Council wishes to advise that the Council’s water supply to Linton will be turned off on Saturday 28 May 2016from 9.00am until 2.00pm.

It will be turned off in order to connect a new pipe in Old West Road, Turitea.

This shutdown will affect the properties on Old West Road, Birch Way, Honore Drive, Tennent Drive, Hewitts Rd, Camp Rd, Whitmore Rd, Eyre Rd, Kendalls Line, Weld Street and other areas in Linton who are on the Palmerston North City water supply.

Properties on the Linton Military Camp water supply will not be affected. A detailed affected area map is available from the Palmerston North City Council website.

Please store water using jars, kittles or other containers prior to the shutdown for use if you don’t have an onsite storage tank.

For properties that have storage tanks please check the water level prior to the shutdown to ensure you have enough water.

Please ensure that all taps are turned off during the shutdown.

After 2:00pm, if you do not have an onsite water storage tank, please check the clarity of your water before using your washing machine and run the tap for 20 minutes if it is discoloured. If the water is still not clear please ring the Council on

The Council regrets any inconvenience caused by this water shutdown. Every effort will be made to reinstate the supply on or before the time stated.
