Coffee Cart Operator Wanted

Coffee Cart Operator Wanted

Ruapehu District Council (RDC) is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from people who may want to run a coffee cart by the popular reserve area and public toilet in Waiouru on SH1.

Since the opening of the new public toilets which were designed to reflect the look of the army museum the reserve area around the toilets has become very popular as a rest and picnic area for travellers.

RDC Property Team Leader Rebecca van Orden said that Council was somewhat surprised at how popular the reserve area had become for travellers taking a break.

“The location is in a high volume area and Council believes this presents a good opportunity for someone wanting to deliver an additional service to the area.”

“Ideally we are looking for an operator who would be willing to assist keep the reserve area tidy as part of their agreement with Council.”

“Long term Council will be developing the reserve area further with the addition of playground equipment which will only add to its popularity.”

More information on the EOI and the conditions any successful operator must meet can be found on www.ruapehudc.govt.nz or alternatively people can call Rebecca at Council on 07 895 8188 or 06 385 8364.

EOI’s must be received at Council by Friday 10 June.
