"Two-car collision at Karapiro"
State Highway 1 at Karapiro is closed after a two car collision near Ferguson Gully Road just before 4pm today.
Two cars appear to have collided head-on.
One person has been airlifted to Waikato Hospital in a critical condition.
Two others have also been taken to Waikato Hospital, one with serious and one with moderate injuries.
Police advise there will be significant delays in the area and diversions are in place.
The Police Serious Crash Unit will be investigating.
