Latest funding round announced

Latest funding round announced

Dunedin (Tuesday, 31 May 2016) – The Dunedin City Council’s March 2016 funding round has been completed.

The DCC's Grants Subcommittee, made up of Councillors and community representatives, has allocated funds of $255,058.89 to 92 groups, organisations and individuals, from community, recreation, youth, arts, cultural, heritage and events sectors.

DCC Acting Manager Events and Community Development Paul Coffey says, “Because there are usually more good applications than the DCC can fund, we use our strategic framework to help make decisions about how to distribute the funds available.”

The DCC uses the Social Wellbeing Strategy to make decisions about community grants, the Environment Strategy to make decisions about biodiversity grants and Ara Toi Ōtepoti, Dunedin's arts and culture strategy, to make decisions about arts grants.

“DCC community funding is an important part of how we work in partnership with Dunedin's communities to make its strategies a reality.”

The next community funding round opens in early September and closes at 5pm on Friday, 30 September 2016. For more information and application forms visit www.dunedin.govt.nz/services/dcc-funding, call in to the DCC’s Customer Services Centre in the Civic Centre or phone 03 477 4000.
