Taranaki Police seek witnesses to suspicious activity in Eltham

Police are seeking witnesses to suspicious activity in the Eltham area this morning or yesterday.

The appeal follows a 50-year-old Eltham man being taken to hospital yesterday with suspected stab wounds.

He was taken to Taranaki Base Hospital and is currently in a critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit.

His family is being advised by Police, and is being supported by the Hospital, Police and the Police Iwi Liaison Officer.

Taranaki Police have this morning arrested a 46-year-old Eltham woman who is assisting Police with enquiries.

Police are interested in speaking with anyone who was in the Eltham area yesterday or this morning who observed anything suspicious and, in particular, saw a green coloured 1999 FordLaser hatchback.

If anyone has any information, they can contact their local Police or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 .
