Police looking to locate Ricky Batalliard

"Police looking to locate Ricky Batalliard"

Counties Manukau Police are asking the public for assistance in locating 27 year-old Ricky Batalliard who is required to arrest after an incident earlier today.

At approximately 11.00am, two police officers were conducting a routine enquiry in Manurewa when they were confronted by Mr Batalliard.

Mr Batalliard has allegedly presented what appears to be a firearm and has threatened the two officers.

The officers were able to remove themselves from the situation uninjured and moved to a safe location to call for further assistance. Mr Batalliard has then left the area in a vehicle before further officers arrived.

Mr Batalliard is described as being 185 cm tall and of a solid build.

He has distinctive tattoos on his face as seen in the attached image.

The vehicle he has left the scene in was a stolen silver Hyundai iX35 station wagon with the registration HLY442.

If you see Mr Batalliard, Police urge that you do not approach him but contact police immediately.

Anyone who has seen Mr Batalliard, or knows where he is, is asked to contact the Counties-Manukau District Command Centre on 09 261 1300 or by calling 111.

Alternatively, information can also be provided anonymously via the organisation Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

“This situation had the potential to have a different outcome and I’m relieved no one was injured,” said Inspector Julia Lynch, Area Commander for Manurewa.

“I would encourage Mr Batalliard, or those who know where he may be, to contact the Police immediately."
