Correction to Tender for Tairua Wharf Project confirmed

Correction to Tender for Tairua Wharf Project confirmed

Correction: Trailer-boat parking does not form part of the resource consent for this project. Parking will be addressed once the wharf rebuild is completed to determine what if any additions or alterations need to be made to current parking.

Total Marine Services has been awarded the tender for the Tairua Wharf Project.

The $1.4m project involves rebuilding the existing wharf and taking the opportunity to widen it to allow permitted vehicles (emergency/ commercial) to use it.

The boat launch ramp will be widened and extended with two pontoons brought in for extra safety.

“Total Marine Services has a proven track record and has extensive knowledge of Tairua, having been involved in the build of the Tairua Marina,” says Tairua-Pauanui Area Manager Garry Towler.

“We hope to lodge building resource consents at the end of June if all goes to plan with our preparatory work,” says Mr Towler.

“If the consent process takes longer than planned, the project could start in late July or early August,” he says.
