ITx: Meet the speakers

New Zealand’s largest tech conference, ITx, kicks off in less than a month with a raft of workshops and speakers on a wide range of topics.

The programme includes a number of international speakers with expertise from right across the spectrum of ICT disciplines.

Edith Yeung, Founding Partner, 500 Start-ups Mobile Collective, will speak on Trends in the Valley and how to get funding for your start-up venture.

The 500 Start-ups Mobile Collective manages US$200 million and funds 1500 start-ups giving Edith a great view of what it takes to be successful in the start-up game.

Mark Smalley is IT Management Consultant at Smalley.IT and Ambassador at the non-profit ASL BiSL Foundation. Based in the Netherlands, Mark have several sessions including one on the “Age of IT Enlightenment” and the intriguingly titled “Kill DevOps” session, which will be entertaining if nothing else.

On the local front, Ian Taylor, founder of Animation Research Limited and current President of IITP, will talk about “Collaboration in New Zealand’s tech sector” and what it takes to make it in this collaborative/competitive environment.

Orion Health’s Ian McRae will talk about why “Healthcare is becoming a data science” and Orion’s experiences in the health information game.

And Rachael Cotton-Bronte, Chief Marketing Technologist at Flint-Box, will talk from the user’s perspective on “Incredible User Experiences” and the up and coming area of “Proximity-based engagement” in her two sessions.
