Nomination period still open for youth representatives
Nomination period still open for youth
representatives
The nomination period for the Youth Voice representatives has been extended until the end of June, extending the opportunity for youth to become involved in what happens in their community.
"Youth are an important part of our community and our Council is actively encouraging our youth to take up leadership roles in their community," says Community Development Officer Marlene Perry.
"We are committed to fostering today's leaders into tomorrow's champions to make sure the youth voice is heard in our district," says Mrs Perry.
A youth / Council partnership group was established to explore how our Council could facilitate an initiative that would not only accommodate a youth voice, but would also encourage it. We have developed, with the help of the Coromandel Youth Collective, a Youth Voice model as an avenue for the districts youth to discuss their ideas and highlight issues and opportunities that are important to them.
