DCC allocates funding for premier and major events

Dunedin (Wednesday, 6 July 2016) – The Dunedin City Council has allocated $466,000 in the annual funding round for premier and major events in Dunedin.

The funding round for the 2016/17 Events Contestable Fund for premier and major events attracted 14 applications, seeking a total of $690,000. The funding was allocated by the Events Assessment Subcommittee.

Dunedin City Council Events Special Projects Co-ordinator Tammy Jackman says the aim of the Fund is to develop Dunedin’s outstanding major and premier events, but also to encourage smaller events to become larger. It also identifies and supports new events, such as the Wild Dunedin Festival of Nature.

The successful recipients are:
