Get Welly moving team coming to your place

Get Welly moving team coming to your place

Tomorrow evening (12 July) from 6-8pm, the Let’s Get Wellington Moving team will be live on Facebook to answer questions about the programme and what’s happening next. Join them real-time from the comfort of your own home or even on a bus!

Let’s Get Wellington Moving is a joint initiative between Wellington City Council, Greater Wellington Regional Council and the NZ Transport Agency, to find good transport solutions that keep Wellington City vibrant and one of the best places in the world to live.

Jim Bentley, director of the Let’s Get Wellington Moving programme, says this Facebook conversation, on the Wellington City Council page, is an opportunity for people to talk to the people working on the programme.

“This is a great opportunity to meet some of our talented team and ask questions, share your ideas. All you need to be part of this conversation is an internet enabled device and you’re in. You don’t have to tune in for the full two hours – you can stay for five minutes, or pop in and out as you please.”

“We’re really keen to hear ideas about how to keep Wellington moving and we’d love to know what people think about the draft urban design and transport principles we’ve developed to set a course for the next phase of the programme. These principles are important because they will form the basis of criteria to be used in assessing potential solutions.”

If you can’t make next Tuesday don’t worry, on Wednesday 20 July there’ll be another opportunity to meet the team, join in the conversation about the principles and share your ideas at PREFAB Theatre in Jessie Street, Te Aro.
