Candidate nominations open

Those who wish to enter their nomination for the 2016 Local Authority Elections can do so from Friday 15th July.

Nominations are being sought for Mayor and fifteen councillors.

Seven members are also being sought for MidCentral District Health Board and 4 members for Horizons Regional Council.

Nominations must be made on the appropriate nomination forms. The forms and Candidate Handbook containing all required information can be found on the relevant websites or by phoning either Palmerston North City Council, MidCentral District Health or Horizons Regional Council.

Each nomination must be accompanied by a deposit of $200 including GST. Details are contained in the Candidates Handbook.

Candidates are encouraged to include a profile statement and photograph for inclusion in the voting documents. Guidelines for the profile statement and profile photograph are also included in the Candidate Handbook.

All nomination documents must be lodged together.

Completed nomination documents must be received by 12 noon on Friday 12 August 2016.
