School bus crash near Dannevirke

A school bus with approximately 14 children on board, collided with a power pole on Top Grass Road at about 8.20am on Friday 29 July 2016.

Four children suffered minor injuries in the crash and are being checked over by medical staff.

The rest have been taken to school.

The driver was not injured.

The cause of the crash is not yet known but there have been strong winds in the area and there are severe weather warnings in place for gales across the North Island.

Police would like to remind all drivers, particularly those of high-sided vehicles and motorcycles, to take extra care on the roads and drive to the conditions.
