Nominations for Civic Honours now
open
Nominations for Horowhenua District Council’s Civic Honours Awards are now open.
The Awards recognise outstanding voluntary service by individuals and also community groups.
Service categories include Community, Conservation, Cultural, Education, Recreation/Sport, Religion, and Social.
The Civic Honours Awards special judging panel will include District Mayor Brendan Duffy and three District Councillors.
Mayor Duffy says the awards recognise local people and groups that have provided outstanding voluntary service and made a positive impact to the community.
"Throughout our District there are many of these extraordinary people - unsung heroes of our community, working tirelessly behind the scenes as members of local, groups, societies and other organisations," he said.
Nominations close on Friday 16 September and the Awards ceremony will be held onTuesday 22 November at Te Takere in Levin.
