Clear water results across district - tanker also clear

Clear water results across district

The most recent tests of the water supply to Hastings and Flaxmere have been returned today and are clear.

The follow up test on the water tanker which returned a suspect result yesterday has also come back clear.

In Havelock North testing shows that chlorination continues to be effective at keeping the water supply clear of contamination, but a boil water notice remains in force.

In Hastings and Flaxmere Hastings District Council is continuing with its “ultra-cautious” approach, chlorinating the water until further notice.

Residents in Hastings and Flaxmere no longer need to boil their drinking water.

The clear tests coming back from the tanker that was parked at Havelock North High School mean that people who drank from that source can be reassured that they are not at risk form drinking that water.

Hastings District Council confirms that over this weekend welfare services will continue to be available and district council staff will continue to work on securing the supply, and developing short to medium-term solutions.
