Crash north of Hokitika, cyclist and vehicle, detour
in place
A serious crash closed State Highway 6 north of Hokitika before 7 am today, says the NZ Transport Agency’s Acting Journey Manager Tresca Forrester.
“The Police Serious Crash Unit is investigating and the highway through Arahura is likely to be closed all morning.”
The detour north and south via Blue Spur Road and Arahura Valley Road will add 30 minutes to drivers’ trips and requires care as it is a narrow road in places.
The Transport Agency’s highway team managing the road closures is warning truck drivers and others to take care on the detour.
