Thames Police seek Rameka Wikaira

At approximately 1pm yesterday afternoon [Saturday 27 August 2016] Police searched an address in Thames in relation to a wanted man, Rameka Wikaira.

After inquiries in to recent burglaries and thefts in the Thames area, Police were lead to the Currie Street address.

Mr Wikaira is still wanted in relation to the burglaries and for breaching his prison release conditions.

The 26-year-old man is described as approximately 171cm tall and of medium to thin build.

Sergeant Russell Richards says he is considered armed and dangerous:

“As he may have stolen firearms on him, the Armed Offenders Squad attended the scene during the search yesterday afternoon.

“We would like to make it clear to friends and associates of his, there may be charges for anyone caught assisting him with avoiding Police.”

Any sightings of Mr Wikaira should be reported to Police on 111.
