WCC statement regarding VUW sale of Karori Campus
Following Victoria University’s decision to declare its Karori Campus surplus to requirement, Wellington City Council says it will continue to work with the community and university to explore options for the community to use campus facilities during the sale process.
The Council’s Chief Operating Officer, Greg Orchard, says: “Wellington City Council understands the importance of the campus to local clubs, schools and community groups. We are looking into the Karori community’s requirements and, over the coming months, will be working with Victoria University and the community to ensure the community’s needs for accessible and appropriate community and recreation facilities are maintained.”
