Stolen Thai food caravan returned to its owners

A sharp-eyed member of the community has helped Police return a stolen Thai food caravan to its owners.

Late last night a friend of the caravan owners reported to Police what he believed to be the caravan, which was stolen from Massey in the early hours of Sunday morning.

“The owners’ friend spotted the caravan, partially hidden, at a residential property in Glen Eden.
They alerted us and we executed a search warrant overnight and recovered the caravan.

It’s now back with its rightful owners who I understand are extremely thankful to have it returned,” says Senior Sergeant Matt Laurenson of Waitemata Police.

“We’re really appreciative that their friend was so keenly observant and acted quickly by calling us.
It’s a great result for the owners,” says Mr Laurenson.

“Police have forensically examined the caravan and we are following very positive lines of enquiry to identify the alleged offender.”
