Christchurch Police investigating two dairy robberies

"Christchurch Police investigating two dairy robberies"

Police are investigating the aggravated robbery of two Christchurch dairies this afternoon.

The first occurred at around 1pm at the Curletts Road dairy.

In this incident a male entered the store with an axe and demanded money from the shop assistant before fleeing.

Police have obtained CCTV footage from the Curletts Road robbery and would like help from the public to identify the male in the footage.

The second robbery occurred at approximately 3:50pm at the Campus Corner dairy on Rountree Street.

In this incident two males entered the store, a male with an axe demanded money from the shop assistant and an assault took place inside the store.

Police are working with the shop staff who are understandably shaken by the events.

Police believe the two robberies are related and are speaking to a person of interest.
