SCIRT Traffic Update for the week starting Monday 5 September 2016

Central City

Moorhouse Ave will have reduced lanes on late Friday 2 September and Saturday 3 September near the intersection of Moorhouse and Ferry Road, for SCIRT repairs of a heritage brick barrel storm water pipe. Turning restrictions are in place in Lancaster St.

Moorhouse Ave, from Friday 9 September for about 5 days will have reduced lanes for westbound traffic. There will be no entry to Montreal St south from Moorhouse Ave.

• The final stage of works at the Fitzgerald Ave twin bridges is underway and expected to take another month. Two-way traffic is maintained on Fitzgerald Ave for straight through traffic but right hand turns blocked at the intersection of Fitzgerald with Avonside Drive and Kilmore St. The road and footpath alongside the two bridges are being resurfaced.

Waltham

Ensors Rd near the intersection with Fifield Tce is down to one lane until late September while SCIRT installs a new manhole. Temporary traffic lights will maintain two-way traffic.

St Albans

• The intersection of Westminister St, Roosevelt St and Courtenay St is closed while an intersection upgrade is carried out. Please use Cranford St, Innes Rd and Rutland St to detour around the worksite.

Merivale

• SCIRT is working at the western end of Aikmans Rd which is one-way eastbound while wastewater repairs take place. Work will continue for another 2 weeks. For westbound traffic on Aikmans Rd the detour is Akela St, Cox St, Sterling St and Office Rd.

Avonside/Linwood

Woodham Rd is closed at the intersection with Worcester St for 2 more months for major wastewater repairs. Access to Woodham Rd, east of Worcester St, will be via Sewell St and Rowcliffe Cres. Eastbound traffic on Woodham Rd will be detoured via Ngarimu St. A “no entry” sign is in place in Woodham Rd at Kerrs Rd and at Ngarimu St.

Richmond/Shirley

Hills Rd at the Warrington St and Shirley Rd intersection has road work from Sunday 4 September. On Sunday night 4 September Hills Rd will be one-way northbound near the intersection and on Monday night 5 September it will be one-way southbound. Detours will be in place.

North Parade, past Banks Ave intersection, will have two-way traffic maintained while SCIRT work is underway for about 3 weeks. Please expect some delays.

Banks Ave will be reduced to one-way eastbound for about 3 weeks.

North Avon Rd is closed between North Parade and Flesher Ave for wastewater works. The detour is North Parade, Medway St to River Rd. The closure is scheduled to be lifted in October.

• The intersection of Stapletons Rd and Dudley St is closed for about one more month. Stapletons Rd is one-way southbound between Averill St and Randall St. Best access is via Shirley Road.

Woolston/Bromley

• SCIRT wastewater repairs on Ferry Rd, between Hargood St and St Johns St, continue. Two-way traffic is maintained but lookout for some diversions.

Dyers Rd wastewater repairs are continuing. Two-way traffic is maintained but expect delays during peak periods and some turning restrictions.

Sumner/Redcliffs

Evans Pass Rd above Sumner is down to one lane around a SCIRT work site where a retaining wall is being rebuilt. The work will take until the end of the year. Temporary traffic lights maintain two-way traffic. Please drive or cycle with caution.

• SCIRT is working on Main Rd in Moncks Bay for another 2 months repairing a culvert. Two-way traffic will be maintained with lane shifts past the work site.

New Brighton/Burwood

New Brighton Rd between Rawson St and Pages Rd is closed for road and footpath repairs from 24 August for 8 weeks. The detour is Hawke St, Keyes Rd and Pratt St.

New Brighton Rd is down to one lane between Queensbury St and Lake Terrace Rd due to road repairs. Two-way traffic is being maintained by traffic signals. Expect delays during peak periods.

Aranui/Wainoni

• This area has several road closures. Please take care. SCIRT is installing a new more earthquake-resilient vacuum wastewater system. See the Aranui map for road closures, bus routes and detours.

• Kerb, channels and footpath repairs have started on Pages Rd between Portchester St and Anzac Drive until late October 2016.Two-way traffic will be maintained.

Breezes Rd, between Hampshire St and Gosport St, is one-way northbound until mid-September. (This section is between Pages Rd and Wainoni Rd).

Breezes Rd is one-way southbound between Pages Rd and Cuthberts Rd. A detour is in place using Cuthberts Rd, Nugent St, Shortland St, Pages Rd.

Shortland St is one-way between Carters Rd and Pages Rd.

Parklands

Beach Rd will have one-way traffic eastbound between Pinewood Ave and Bower Ave until mid-September while wastewater, storm water, kerb and channel and carriageway repairs take place. Access to Beach Rd shops is via Sylvia St, heading west. There will be a short period when Beach Rd is closed just outside the shops while final wastewater connections are carried out in the middle of the Bower Ave roundabout and the roundabout is finally reconstructed.

Pinewood Ave at the Beach Rd intersection is closed for about 3 weeks while wastewater work is underway on Beach Rd.

Flemington Ave is closed until mid-September. Please use Ascot Ave.

Inwoods Rd, between Bottle Lake Drive and Queenspark Drive, is one-way southbound for about 3 weeks. Bottle Lake Dr is closed to through traffic until mid this week.
