All-clear given following sewage spill into Whairepo-Frank
Kitts Lagoon earlier this week
Wellington Water says
two days of clear samples have been received from
water-quality tests in the Whairepo-Frank Kitts Lagoon –
indicating that any effects following the wastewater-sewage
spill into the lagoon on Wednesday have receded. Warning
signs on the Wellington waterfront will be removed today.
The spill resulted from a break in a wastewater main in
nearby Victoria Street. The break was repaired on Wednesday
evening.
