Havelock North assistance programmes

Havelock North assistance programmes

The closing date for the Hastings District Council assistance package available to businesses adversely affected by the Havelock North gastroenteritis outbreak has been extended to 30 September 2016.

This aligns with the closing date of the Work and Income ‘Loss of Income Payment’ assistance being offered to people who lost income because of the outbreak.

Hastings District Council chief executive Ross McLeod said 24 applications for business assistance to date had been received by Council and are continuing to be processed as they are received.

To date Work and Income has helped 75 people and families with the Loss of Income payment relating to the outbreak. Other hardship assistance relating to the event remains available for people who meet the eligibility criteria beyond 30 September 2016.
