Hamilton Police are attending a crash on Victoria Street, after a pedestrian and a vehicle collided shortly before 1:45pm today.
The male pedestrian is in a critical condition but no one else was injured.
The northbound lane on Victoria Street is closed between Bryce Street and London Street.
Diversions are in place but motorists are asked to avoid the area.
No further information is available at this stage while the Serious Crash Unit investigate the incident.
