Water supplies:

• A water tanker will be at the Hikuatia Store for anyone who needs water from around the surrounding area. I'm just waiting to get an ETA on when it will be there.

• The Matatoki water is intact but we are still trying to repair the Omaha intake so Hikutaia/Wharepoa will be without water. We apologise for the delays but there will be a water tanker there very soon. Meanwhile the valve from Puriri has been opened so this will be available, albeit with low pressure.

River Levels

For updates refer http://www.waikatoregion.govt.nz/Services/Regional-services/River-levels-and-rainfall/River-levels-and-flow---latest-reading/

Kauaeranga River peaked at 9.4m and the Karangahake River peaked at 15.4m both now dropping.

Power outages

No outages - For updates and further details refer http://www.powerco.co.nz/Outages-and-Faults/

The weather forecast:

The heavy rain is expected to continue until later this morning, potentially bringing another 100mm of rain on top of what's already fallen on Sunday morning.

The message from Civil Defence is watch for rapidly rising waters, avoid waterways and if travelling take extreme care as there is debris on roads from lots of minor slips.

Delay travel plans until later on today to reduce risks.
