Coromandel Peninsula is in for more rain

Coromandel Peninsula is in for more rain

We're expecting more rain over the next few days, with the possibility of heavy falls approaching warning criteria, according to Metservice.

That means be careful driving, watch for slips, be careful of water on roads, watch for rapidly rising waters, avoid waterways and stock up on drinking water and food to last a few days - just in case. That's the message from Civil Defence.

High tide is just after 5pm today, so watch the roads in low-lying coastal areas - some of them flood sometimes when high tide is combined with lots of rain.

Stay up to date with the weather on www.metservice.com

We have no reports of closed roads and our rubbish and recycling crews are working hard to catch up on the collections missed yesterday on the east side of the Coromandel.

Check NZTA for state highway updates - www.nzta.govt.nz/traffic - and check our Council's Facebook page for the latest on TCDC roads, water services and rubbish - www.facebook.com/ThamesCoromandelDistrictCouncil/
